Ihamba’s journey so far..
Born in 2012, Ihamba, translating to “wilderness”, started a humble and yet purposeful journey with 6 stand-alone cottages, offering a peaceful sanctuary that celebrates the beauty of the African bush.
Situated right in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park, our safari lodge offers a uniquely immersive, and yet sustainable experience where wildlife freely moves through and around the property, creating a
breathtaking experience for our travelers.
Today, guided by the same passionate and community‑born team at Ihamba, we have grown our portfolio to 10 beautifully crafted cottages, spanning across 18.6 acres of wilderness, still offering our guests the
perfect safari experience. These tracts of wilderness are home to precious biodiversity, unique wildlife, and magnificent landscapes, the protection of which is our core purpose.
A vision for the future..
As one of the pioneers in the ecotourism space in Queen Elizabeth National Park, our purpose and growth continue to be guided and founded in our commitment to Sustainability and Community.
As we pursue excellence through continued long-term investment and involvement in conservation, empowerment and community outreach, we will continue to ensure the mutual benefit to nature and people, now and into the future.
Ihamba’s people, as individual and collective advocates of our commitment to conservation, are the
catalyst of our purpose. Through them, and in the calm and welcoming spaces we’ve curated, our
traveling guests will always find a celebration of culture and context and a sense of community.
